Artist Statement

I believe that art should draw you in and evoke an emotion that is universal and cross-cultural.

I am a self-trained artist that is inspired by the animals. I hope each painting evokes an emotion about the connection of the animals to each other and to us.

I love painting the wild animals and I love thinking about the wild animals. The backgrounds of the paintings are as important as the image of the animal. I want the backgrounds to give us clues about the state of being of the animal and to evoke the emotional life of the animals.

The animals are majestic and inspiring to watch as they navigate their habitat.  I hope that my paintings emotionally impact the observer and spark interest in the animals to bring awareness that the animals need our help to survive.
